Words of Encouragement from Bro.
Jerry
At the end of December Betty
and I will be leaving this blessed church. If
there is one thing I could say to you it would be
“Thank You”, continued throughout the page! I
would say praise God through an entire page for
what He has done in these eleven months. So many
people are coming up to me and Betty telling us
their appreciation for the change the Lord has
made in their lives.
My prayer as
I leave is that God will give you a man of God to
be your pastor who will preach the word, that
people will come to know Jesus and those who know
Him will grow spiritually to show the Reality of
His person through their lives.
From now until the day I die I will retain good
memories of the privilege of being your pastor in
the interim. December is a month rich in Christmas
celebration of the first coming of our Lord and
moment by moment anticipation of His coming again.
Let's make it a point to enjoy every moment and to
worship Him who both came and is coming for
us.
This will be my last article
in the monthly newsletter. Betty and I love you
with the love of the Lord.

Annual Fruit Basket Delivery and
Caroling
“A Christmas gift to the
community.”
A Christmas tradition of EUBC is
the making and delivering of fruit baskets to the
sick, elderly and shut-ins. More recently caroling
and a church fellowship has been added to
this activity.
On December 14th at 3:30 pm
volunteers, headed by Linda and Richard Lott will
gather to assemble the fruit baskets, then, at 4
pm, volunteers will start delivering them to the
recipients. Groups of carolers , including youth
and children will go out to homes and nursing
homes in the community. Everyone will meet back at
the church for a fellowship of finger foods and
socializing.
Please sign up to provide names of
those who should receive a fruit basket. Come and
let us celebrate together this joyous season by
doing for others.
Lottie Moon
Christmas Offering
Who was Lottie
Moon?
She was one of the early
Southern Baptist missionaries and one of the first
single woman missionaries to serve. She served as
a Southern Baptist Missionary in China for 39
years. She knew the need for more
missionaries to tell the word of Jesus. She
literally starved to death on the mission field
helping others learn about Christ.
"How many
there are ... who imagine that because Jesus paid
it all, they need pay nothing, forgetting that the
prime object of their salvation was that they
should follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ in
bringing back a lost world to God."

What
is the Lottie Moon Christmas tree and what is its
purpose?
“The purpose of the ornaments: To
teach our children and each of us that the
greatest way to celebrate the Birth of the Christ
Child is to give Him a gift that is in keeping
with His Mission, namely to reach the peoples of
the earth with the Gospel of His love.”
“Each
family and hopefully each member will select
a Lottie Moon ornament from the tree and
take it home and place it on their Christmas tree.
The ornament will be a reminder of the true
meaning of the Christmas season- The Miraculous
Birth of the Son of God.” Dr. John A

Words of Encouragement
from Bro. Lee
Our Lord and Savior who cares
for us and guides along the journey of
life.
Youth who are willing to serve and
minister to each other and the
community.
Church members who consistently
minister and encourage each
other.
Members who generously give time,
energy, thought, and prayer to the many activities
of church.
Spirit of service and fellowship
that unites our church.
I am pleased
with our youth especially those who come
regularly, sing in the choir and youth room, as
well as those who faithfully attend and
participate in Youth on Mission service
projects. I anticipate a new year with
challenges but with the expectation that souls
will be saved, encouraged, and
strengthened. Please join with me in
praying for our youth-especially the basketball
players who are visiting our church. May God
bless you as you seek His face and reflect on
God's love that brought Him to earth to pay the
ultimate price that we may be renewed!
All
who call on God in true faith, earnestly from the
heart, will certainly be heard, and will receive
what they have asked and desired. -- Martin
Luther
Emmanuel. God with us. He who resided in
Heaven, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father
and the Spirit, willingly descended into our
world. He breathed our air, felt our pain, knew
our sorrows, and died for our sins. He didn't come
to frighten us, but to show us the way to warmth
and safety.---Charles Swindoll

CHILDREN'S CORNER
Dear Church
Friends:
What a wonderful blessing it is to
serve our Lord Jesus Christ at East Union
Children's Corner. Our staff at EUCC truly makes a
great team to serve and grow with. We are blessed
with many sweet children that come from great
families that love the Lord.
The holidays are
here- wow-this year has flown by. EUCC will be
closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Friday
after Christmas so our teachers and staff may have
this special time of the year with their
families.
Have a Merry Christmas and a
wonderful New Year!!!

Happy
Holiday!
My youngest son, Kevin, will
be irate when he sees that heading. He says we
always need to include Christ in all our holiday
greetings, and he is right.
Our
children's Christmas musical is about keeping
Jesus the main focus. Our children have worked
very hard to bring
us this interesting story of
what this holiday season would be like without
Jesus and His gift to us. Make sure you are here
to experience this wonderful
musical.
Just one long term note:
Coming next fall: AWANA
Merry
Christmas,
Loving you and
Jesus,
Jimmy & Doris
